Silent was the house broken by howls, worrying claws, cacophonous growls
Eyes shining like high beams, the blood on the ground, and a strange understanding that both of us found.
Of the many recurring animal attack dreams I’ve had over the years, one of those that particularly sticks with me was that of a pack of wolves that rushed me on a cold winter day in a strange version of one of my old homes. I found myself physically fighting for my life until I had overcome the most influential of the wolves who then became kind and sweet. But the feeling of being attacked by a pack of animals never really left me as I sat sweating next to the wolf, marveling at how I’d overcome my fear to find something gentler.
A common theme in my animal attack dreams is the taming of something vicious to find that it was not nearly so frightening in the end. May this piece remind you that next time your mind swirls with worries and fears, you too are capable of taming it and may even find something kind and beneficial within the chaos.
