Sleep crept ever closer, beguiling dreams to dread
But she took a breath, although unsteady, and chose to rise instead.
A piece about the weight of the mind, and the hope within. Although we should be at home within ourselves, sometimes we can become lost in forests of callous thought, and self-deprecation. The choice to rise despite these thoughts is not an easy one, but it is a necessary first step in overcoming them. While the dog seems weighed down, there is a spirit inside her mind that softly whispers, “keep going.” I believe we all have this spirit, however deeply buried. This piece is dedicated to everyone who needs help finding that soft whisper inside once more.
